The official take off of the association took place in the year 2005 with the first ever Hajiya Zainab Idris, the wife of the executive Governor of Kogi State Nigeria, tagged Hajia Zainab Idris inter local Government table tennis Association, under the auspizes of Kogi State ministry of youth and sports.In the year 2006 August 27, we also celebrated Kogi state 15th year anniversary with a novelty match anniversary with a Novelty match between the 21 local Government Chairmen versus State executive council member.
At Kwara state in Nigeria, 2007 was the take off of the first Barrister Oluwatoyin Saraki interGovernment Table Tennis championship match which took place on 27th-31st march 2007.
